This past weekend I was lucky enough to fly back to Grand Rapids, Michigan to meet/visit Becky's family!  Our flight out there was easy, with no delays.  We had dinner with Becky's grandparents and then went up to their cottage in Whitehall, MI

It was extremely relaxing to be there and not have to worry about work... or much of anything at all.

Friday
We slept in and spent most of the day on the beach playing in the water and soaking up some sun.  In the evening we met up with Cheri who took us up to her office, so we could watch the fireworks.

Saturday
We slept in yet again and wait for some storms to pass.  It finally cleared up and we ended up taking the powerboat down to Muskegon, MI.  We anchored the boat in Mona Lake to watch (pictures) the AirFare 2003.
In the evening a bunch of Becky's came up to the cottage for a BBQ and sand bocce ball!

Sunday
We got up for church where we met up with Becky's other grandparents.  They came back to the cottage for lunch, which was a good time.  We spent the afternoon playing on the beach again.

Monday
We got up and left about noon.  I got to experience EMS, Russ', and see the infamous Grand Central Plaza.  We then had to head over to the airport to head back to San Jose.  The airline offered us $100 voucher to take a flight the next morning, but we didn't feel it was worth it.  Boy do we wish we had taken that offer.  We got to Chicago with no problem.  We arrived around 5:30pm and were scheduled to leave at 7:00pm.  Well, we ended up not taking off from Chicago until after 10:30pm getting us home about 1:30am.  We were extremely exhausted from such a long day.

Overall it was an awesom trip.  I had a great time hanging out with the Diephouse family.  I hadn't felt that relaxed in such a long time.  I can now fully understand why so many people move out to their cottages for the summer.
