"If you want to master the command line, you should learn to use pipes. The pipe character is: | All Unix processes have three properties: Standard In (stdin), Standard Out (stdout), and Standard Error (stderr). Stdin is the input, and output is separated into stdout and stderr. Error messages are displayed through stderr."
